The Sour Glitch Refusal

VENUE

by audley anderson and haz lugsdin

The Sour Glitch Refusal is a vicarious riddle room with little room for diligence. Wordplay is foreplay, sense is nonsense, clues are costumes and the escape is in the doing.

With players and protagonists, They and Them, you are locked in an ‘80s corporate workroom. Beige, banal and bereft. The printer is broken, the plants are wilting, the water cooler drips slowly. There are no colleagues in sight. There’s been a murder on the work floor.

They (and Them) have one hour to solve the mystery and make an escape.

Performers and creators Audley Anderson and Haz Lugsdin draw on drag, comedy, and performance art to create joyful (and disturbing) boinks through the binary and out The Wazoo.

“...bold, urgent and abstract; audiences are engaged and invested, and ultimately challenged, and then enlightened by where their work lands. These artists are marked with so much potential. They are making inventive and exceptional work.” Claud Bailey (Wear It Purple Arts Leader Fellowship Recipient 2023).

MEET THE ARTIST -
SPOREPUNK

Sporepunk is a performance collective founded by Audley Anderson and Haz Lugsdin creating bold and bewildering theatre works beyond the binary. They use intuitive making as revelation for the non-binary and trans experience, whilst centering joy and rambunctious risk. Sporepunk creates a container for interdisciplinary magic by a cast of queer collaborators from inception to performance. Previous works include Rising Damp: A Sporepunk unearthing of a queer utopia (La Mama HQ), Twin Flame/Dead Spit (Melbourne Fringe), The Sour Glitch Two-Step Refusal (Brand X), and 101011001: Dude, Where’s My Gender? (Giant Dwarf).
