In a small flat above a small shop in a small arcade lives a small woman trapped in an unwanted life. Forced into an unhappy marriage by her Aunt and stuck caring for her sickly husband, THÉRÈSE RAQUIN lives a life of quiet desperation. Until she meets Laurent. This brutish man charms his way into the Raquin household and stakes his claim on Therese’s heart. Does his love offer her a passionate escape from the dull monotony of her marriage? Or will the affair ensnare her in a situation even more tortuous than the life she already leads?
